What if my insurance is not listed?
If your insurance is not currently listed, you still have options. You’re welcome to self-pay for services, and you can easily submit an appointment request directly through this website.
If you’d like me to consider credentialing with your insurance, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’d love to hear from you. You can email me directly at yoko@newlifenutritionwellness.com or send an inquiry through the appointment request form, and I’ll let you know if becoming an in-network provider with your plan is possible.
-
What if I live in another state not listed?
At this time, I am only able to accept insurance for clients who live in the states where I am licensed and credentialed. If you live outside of these states, you can still choose to self-pay for services.
You’re welcome to submit an appointment request here on the website, or email me directly to learn more.
If you’d like, you can also inquire about the possibility of me becoming credentialed in your state—I’m always open to expanding access where it’s needed.
-
Why does my location matter for telehealth nutrition sessions?
Your location matters because nutrition professionals are required to be licensed in the state where their client is physically located at the time of the session. Even though we’re meeting virtually, telehealth is regulated just like in-person care.
That means if you live—or are currently staying—in a state where I hold licensure, I can see you and (when applicable) bill your insurance. If you’re in a state where I am not licensed, I may not be able to provide covered services. In some cases, however, you may still work with me as a self-pay client, depending on your state’s telehealth laws.
This ensures your care is both safe and legally compliant, while also protecting your ability to use insurance benefits when available.
-
Can I work with you if I’m traveling or temporarily living in another state?
Yes—with some important considerations. What matters is the state you are physically located in at the time of your telehealth session. If you’re traveling or staying temporarily in a state where I hold licensure, I can still meet with you and bill your insurance as usual.
If you’re in a state where I am not licensed, I may not be able to provide insurance-covered sessions. However, in some cases, you may still be able to see me as a self-pay client, depending on the regulations of that state.
If you have travel plans or are relocating temporarily, let me know in advance so we can discuss your options and ensure your care continues without interruption.
